Two Minutes to Midnight and the Architecture of Armageddon – September 1, 2021 – January 7, 2022
Through two photographic essays, photographers Jeanine Michna-Bales and Adam Reynolds offer a calculated look at the “Architecture of Armageddon,” both the offensive and defensive implications of nuclear war. These quiet architectural spaces, devoid of people, allow viewers to come face to face with present nuclear realities while also offering a look into the collective psyche of the American people during the Cold War.

Spirited: Prohibition in America – November 10, 2021 – January 7, 2021
Spirited: Prohibition in America brings visitors back to the period of flappers and suffragists, bootleggers and temperance lobbyists, and real-life legends, such as Al Capone and Carry Nation. Adapted from the National Constitution Center’s flagship exhibition, Spirited explores the history of Prohibition, from the dawn of the temperance movement to the unprecedented repeal of a constitutional amendment in 1933. What made the country go “dry” and how did America change during this period in history? Visitors to Spirited will learn about the amendment process, the role of liquor in American culture, the cultural revolution of the roaring ’20s, and how liquor laws vary from state to state today.

I AM a Man: Civil Rights Photographs in the American South, 1960-1970 – January 28, 2022 – March 16, 2022
I Am A Man: Civil Rights Photographs in the American South, 1960–1970 displays a wide range of photographs taken by amateurs, local photojournalists, and internationally known photographers. Together, they provide a vivid visual story of the evolution of the civil rights movement and shed light on the movement’s integration in the daily living in the American South.

¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and The Big Leagues/En los barrios y las grandes ligas – March 2022 – June 2022
¡Pleibol! examines how generations of Latinos/as have helped make baseball what it is today. From youth and community teams to the Major League, this exhibition reveals how the game brings people together regardless of race, class, or gender. These inspirational baseball stories reflect larger themes in American history that connect us all, on and off the diamond. Exhibicion also in Español.

Women, Aviation, and WWII – June 20, 2022 – August 12, 2022
While thousands of men were fighting for their country, the people back home were engaged in an extensive war effort of their own.  We cannot forget the women who stepped up to meet the demands on the home front.  Women were essential to the American War Effort.  They worked in defense industries, joined the military, and completed countless other tasks to move the Allies closer to victory.  In many cases, they made these contributions while meeting family obligations at home.  This exhibit features the WASP’s, Rosie the Riveters, and famous aviatrix Jackie Cochran.

The Negro Motorist Green Book – October 15, 2022 – January 8, 2023
The Negro Motorist Green Book brings to life the story of Victor Hugo Green, a Harlem postman, who published the Green Book, a guide for African American travelers. The exhibit features an immersive look at the harsh reality of travel for blacks in mid-century America and the vibrant parallel world of African American-friendly businesses that supported this travel. Visitors are transported back to a time when, if you were black, it took bravery and a Green Book to cross the country safely.
